آکسفورڈ یونی ورسٹی دنیا کے  قدیم ترین تعلیمی اداروں میں سے ایک ہے .اسکا آغاز 1096, عیسوی میں ہوا .1167,عیسوی میں یہاں پر تعلیمی سرگرمیوں میں تیزی اس وقت آئی .جب کنگ ہینری دوم نے انگلش طالب علموں کے پیرس یونی ورسٹی میں داخلے پر پابندی لگا دی .

29، فروری 2024,، کو آکسفورڈ یونی ورسٹی کی تاریخ کے 100،ممتاز ترین افراد کی ایک فہرست جاری کی گئی .یعنی آکسفورڈ کی 900, سال سے زائد کی تاریخ کے قابل اور ممتاز ترین سابق طلباء . جنھوں نے زندگی کے مختلف شعبوں میں اپنی صلاحیتوں کا لوہا منوایا .اور کار ہاۓ نمایاں سر انجام دئیے .

اس فہرست میں پاکستان کے چار افراد شامل ہیں .ان میں سے تین تو اس جہان فانی سے رخصت ہو چکے ہیں .
